Agenda: Cyber Security with Special Emphasis on The Pegasus Spyware
Is the Cyber World really safe?! There are 1.5 million cyber-attacks yearly, that means that there are over 4,000 attacks a day, 170 attacks every hour, or nearly three attacks every minute. A Russian's hacking of a U.S. bank in 1994 may have been the first online bank robbery and since then the crime has never stopped Recently, The Pegasus spyware, developed by Israeli software company NSO Group, has targeted globally more than 50,000 phone numbers, including 300 in India, for mass surveillance. It is perhaps the most powerful spyware ever created! So if you think you are great at debating and are super diplomatic, then the most powerful body of the UN System the committee for you!

Mehek Mahajan, a first year law student at Jindal Global Law School, has been a MUNner for the last 5 years. Being an extrovert and a passionate follower of international events she believes that MUNs provide her the opportunity to voice her opinion and be a part of greater global issues. MUNs have helped her enhance her knowledge about international relations, governments and cultures. She has honed her skills of public speaking by participating in many Interschool Elocutions, and Debate competitions. As a law student, it gives her the glimpses of her life in the future. MUNs give her a sense of belonging to a greater world and belief that she can make a change.
